About Frank Reid and the Tournament

For many years, many of the tournament organizers and players would play a fun game of golf on the Friday of the tournament. It proved extremely popular, so we decided to extend it to everyone involved in the softball tournament and hold an organized golf tournament.

The first official tournament was held in 2011 with 136 golfers. It was a success that we never dreamed of. We re-named it to the Frank Reid Memorial after Mike’s dad passed away from Dementia.

The 5th Annual Frank Reid Memorial Golf Tournament took place in 2015 and the number of golfers increased to an incredible amount of 160 golfers. The tournament is always a wonderful day with a lot of laughs, prizes with a barbecue held back at Empire Park. Over the years, we have even witnessed 2 golfers get a hole in one. How many people can say that!

The money raised at the golf tournament also contributes to the final total of money raised each year for the kids of the MacKay Centre School and other local charities.

Join us for the 2024 Frank Reid Memorial Golf Tournament at Club de Golf Rive-Sud in St-Basile-le-Grand, Quebec. Registration at 7:30 AM, shotgun start at 8:00 AM. Price includes registration, 18 holes, electric cart, door prizes and lunch back at Empire Park.
