The 2021 Virtual Tournament
The 2021 Virtual Tournament
Sadly, we had to cancel the Mike Reid Memorial Softball Tournament again in 2021. The Mike Reid Executive Committee decided that there were too many uncertainties and risks involved at holding a 2021 tournament because of the pandemic. In its place, we held another virtual tournament which turned out to be another huge success. Like our real tournament, the draw for teams was held the Monday before the tournament. The actual virtual tournament was held over four days from Thursday to Sunday. Winning and losing teams were picked at random out of a cup. In the end, The Proud Grands came out lucky in Division A and New Generation took the B Division.
Our total dollar amount raised exceeded last years tournament by a few thousand dollars. Thanks to everyone who participated, purchased contest tickets and virtual beers and drinks. Also, a huge shout-out to the people and organizations who stepped up to show their support. The 2021 Mike Reid Virtual Tournament was a great way to stay distanced and still have some fun without being at the park.
