It was a happy day on October 27, 2016 when Mike Reid tournament organizers Wade Wilson and Brenda Phelp presented a check for $30,000.00 to the MacKay Center School.
The money was part of the proceeds from the 2016 Mike Reid Tournament and helps the children of the MacKay Centre School with their activities and outings throughout the year.
Once again thanks to all who came out and participated in 2016 tournament, without your generosity this would not be possible......THANK YOU!
Reid's Raiders won the A Division of 2016 Mike Reid Memorial Softball Tournament in a 13-9 win over the Saints. The week-end was plagued by inclement weather with torrential rain on Saturday but all games in the tournament were played and we managed to finish as scheduled on Sunday evening.
A huge congrats to everyone involved including Mike's sister, Kathy Reid-Leonard and her husband Patrick Leonard, Tournament Chairman Wade Wilson, Cynthia Bremner, Brenda Philp, Adam Misztal, and the many volunteers who helped out at the event. Without these people, our tournament would not be possible.
Other winners in the tournament included The Diamond Divas who won the ladies division 11-3 over the Soul Sisters. Men's B Division winners were The Incredibles, who took the final 15-12 over the Latenights.
The draw for tournament team playing times was held on Monday evening at the Greenfield Park Legion. Most teams were present for the draw. This is it! The schedule for 32nd Mike Reid Softball Tournament. Click the links to download and print...
As you might or might not know, the Mike Reid Division 'B' Trophy went missing a few years ago. We were hoping to get back sometime but it never happened. With the loss of the trophy, we lost the names of many winning teams from throughout the years.
We replaced the trophy in time for the 2016 tournament but need your help in naming all the Division 'B' winning teams from past tournaments. We are halfway there but we need to name all the winning teams. Here's the what we have so far: 2015-Stadium 21; 2014-The Longballs; 2013-Scotyz Bar; 2012-Dirty Dawgers; 2003-Knights; 2002-Dodgers; 2001-High Sierra; 2000-Canada Drive-in; 1999-Dodgers; 1998-East Greenfield; 1990-Greenfield Park Legion; 1989-Peel Pub; 1987-Macdonald High School Alumni; 1986-Fred Dobson’s Texaco.
We are missing the Division 'B' winning teams from 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2009, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 1997, 1996, 1995, 1994, 1993, 1992, 1991, 1988, and 1985.
If you can help us fill in any of the blanks, please contact Ron Zinn who maintains the MR website! Any information will help us at resurrecting the trophy.

Kathryn Reid was recognized by the City of Longueuil for her years of volunteering for the Mike Reid Foundation. Kathryn was presented the award at the Longueuil City Hall on April 15th 2015. There were approximately 40 volunteers who were honored with a Volunteer Award in front of dignitaries and representatives of community, cultural and sporting services and Kathryn's supporters.
Kathryn has been associated with the Mike Reid Foundation since its inception in 1985. Mike Reid's younger sister, Kathryn started as the secretary under the direction of her father, Frank who was the President of the foundation from 1984 to 2007. Earlier in 2015, Kathryn became President of the foundation after Wade Wilson was promoted to Chairman.
Started in memory of her brother Michael, The Mike Reid Foundation has raised close to one million dollars for Montreal's MacKay Centre and other local charities through the Mike Reid Softball Tournament and other fundraising events.
Kathryn received the award in conjunction with Longueuil's volunteer week, which pays tribute to volunteers who have gone above and beyond being a volunteer.
